We need to talk…
The Dear 2020 Project is a writing challenge for writers of any age, living anywhere in the world.
We are looking for submissions for our zine, which we will be publishing in London in December 2020.
If you could speak to the year 2020, what would you say?
We challenge you to write a letter of no more than one side of A4 directly to the year 2020.
What are you thankful for?
What are you angry, or confused, about?
What questions would you like 2020 to answer?
Perhaps you’d like to offer it some advice?
Your letter can take any form you like- it can be fictional or based on your own experiences, written from any perspective and can use prose or poetry. You can type or handwrite your letter and you are welcome to illustrate or decorate it.
Creative thinking is encouraged- you can interpret the challenge however you wish!
We will be publishing a zine in December 2020 to share the very best letters submitted to the project. Submitting a letter gives you the chance to be included, but does not guarantee that you will be published in the zine.
The closing date for submissions is 11:59pm on Sunday 8th November 2020.
In December 2020, we will be publishing a short publication (a zine) with a selection of the best letters from the Dear 2020 Project.
We will be distributing them for free across the UK and they will be available to buy for a small cost online from the date of publication.
By submitting a letter to the Dear 2020 Project, you will have a chance to be included in the Dear 2020 Project zine.
